Spike Lee first burst out onto the scene with She's Gotta Have It and School Daze. His films introduced a new take on African American culture and he was quickly hailed as a rising talent in Hollywood. In 1989, Lee's Do the Right Thing earned him an Oscar nomination and made him an A-list director. Although his films are usually not huge money makers, Lee is still a considered one of the finest directors in Hollywood. His other films include Malcolm X, Girl 6, Summer of Sam, and The 25th Hour. |
