Although Richard Gere has been an indelible presence at the movies for more than 25 years, the former American Gigolo has never been nominated for an Academy Award. After winning rave reviews as Billy Flynn -- the tap dancing attorney of Chicago -- his wait for an Oscar may finally be over. NominOptions allow traders to buy and sell the hottest Oscar contenders with these exclusive securities centered around the 75th Academy Awards. The leading contenders for nominations are being offered in the eight major award categories.
Thirteen HSX NominOptions will be issued in each of the eight major categories. Each NominOption is offered at H$5.00. The NominOptions will halt trading at 9 p.m. EST on Monday, Feb. 10, in preparation for Tuesday, Feb. 11, when Oscar nominations will be announced by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.
Each option of a nominated film or star will cash out at H$13.00, while those NominOptions failing to secure a nomination will delist at H$0.00.
