Based upon the children's book by J.K. Rowling, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone chronicles a British orphan who discovers that he is a wizard. Warner Bros. purchased the screen rights to the four books of the Harry Potter series. The books have been popular with adults as well topping the best-seller lists all over the world.

After Steven Spielberg dropped out to pursue other projects, Chris Columbus took over the project. Harry Potter is being played by Daniel Radcliffe. Supporting him will be an all-star cast of British actors including Robbie Coltrane, Alan Rickman, Tim Roth, Ian Hart, Maggie Smith, John Cleese, and Richard Harris.
