The documentary Bustin’ Down the Door captures how surfing became a legitimate sport. Australian and South African surfers descended upon the North Shore of Hawaii and brought professionalism and legitimacy to the sport. At the same time, the six foreigners alienated and angered the locals with their braggadocio. The documentary comes from writer-director Jeremy Gosch.
