Martin Scorsese's long-awaited epic was considered a front-runner for the Academy Awards -- a year ago. But in the aftermath of September 11, and with the notoriously picky director still tinkering with the final cut, Miramax decided to wait another year for its release. Now, the sprawling, violent drama is among the studio's chief contenders for top trophies in March. Gangs has already earned a nomination from the Hollywood Foreign Press for Best Motion Picture, Drama. Its screenplay was written by Jay Cocks, Steven Zaillian, and Kenneth Lonergan.
Award Options
Award Options allow traders to buy and sell the Oscar nominees with exclusive securities centered around the 75th Academy Awards.
Five HSX Award Options will be issued for the nominees in the nine major categories. Each Award Option is offered at H$5.00. The Award Options will halt trading at 3 p.m. EST on Sunday, March 23, in preparation for the awards ceremony to be held that evening.
