HSX : Movies : Award



The contenders for this year's Best Picture category are a remarkably varied group. About Schmidt nabbed top honors from the L.A. Film Critics while dramatic pic Far From Heaven is the year's best according to the New York scribes. My Big Fat Greek Wedding, the most successful independent film of all time, made its meteoric rise as a word-of-mouth movie. The list also includes the musical extravaganza Chicago and the fantastic The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers, which held audiences in a spell. A group of strong women captivates viewers in The Hours. Gangs of New York and The Pianist are also in the running.

NominOptions allow traders to buy and sell the hottest Oscar contenders with these exclusive securities centered around the 75th Academy Awards. The leading contenders for nominations are being offered in each of the eight major award categories.

Thirteen HSX NominOptions will be issued in each of the eight major categories. Each NominOption is offered at H$5.00. The NominOptions will halt trading at 9 p.m. EST on Monday, Feb. 10, in preparation for Tuesday, Feb. 11, when Oscar nominations will be announced by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.

Each option of a nominated film or star will cash out at H$13.00, while those NominOptions failing to secure a nomination will delist at H$0.00.
