Sebastian Junger's best-selling book The Perfect Storm was adapted for the screen by Bill Wittliff. Wittliff previously adapted Lonesome Dove for television, and scripted Legends of the Fall. The Perfect Storm is the true-life story of the crew of the Andrea Gail. The elements on the Eastern Seaboard came together in 1991 for an meteorological event like no other. George Clooney and Mark Wahlberg lead a six-man crew caught up in the center of the storm. A simple fishing run becomes the fight of their lives. The Warner Bros. summer hit was directed by Wolfgang Petersen.
