With numerous theater, film, and television credits to his name,
McDiarmid also acts as joint artistic director of the famed Almeida Theater in
London. McDiarmid first worked for George Lucas in his role as the Emperor in Return of the Jedi. He has also appeared in such films as The Dragon Slayer, Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, and Gorky Park.
