Paramount can be proud as Tropic Thunder (TROPC) took number one for a second week in a row. The comedy stars Ben Stiller (BSTIL), Jack Black (JBLAC) and Robert Downey Jr. (RBOWN) as three actors on location to shoot a war film but get involved in a real life conflict. Thunder stayed on top with $16.3 million with a total in its war fund of $65 million.

Anna Faris (AFARI) showed up at the box office with her sorority friends in The House Bunny (HBUNY). The comedy fared well coming in at number two with $14.5 million.
Death Race (DRACE) fought for its life and came in at number three. The Universal actioner took home $12.6 million in its opening weekend.
Although he lost the number one spot last week, The Dark Knight continues to lurk in the shadows at number four. The Dark Knight managed to take another $10 million making its total earnings at $489 million.
Star Wars: The Clone Wars (SWTCW) continues to delight loyal fanboys. The film fell two notches to number five but has stayed in the top ten. Star Wars took in $5.6 million this weekend totaling the fund against the evil alliance to $24.9 million.
The weekend's other two openers were Longshots (LNGSH) at number ten and The Rocker (ROCKR) at thirteen.
This week, Wednesday openers Hamlet 2 (HMLT2) and Traitor (TRAIT) open wide on Wednesday. The Labor Day Weekend will play host to Vin Diesel (VDIES) in Babylon A.D (BABLN), College (COLEG), and Disaster Movie (DISAT).
